Job summary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of various cuisines and basic cooking methods.

Responsibilities

  • Has the ability to complete an accurate inventory count each month.
  • Attends a monthly kitchen staff meeting covering training, progress, safety, and basic financials.
  • Assists the Executive Chef in planning all menus with the club’s Food and Beverage Director.
  • Follows standards to ensure consistency in food taste and presentation.
  • Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items for the line.
  • Carefully follows standard recipes for all items.
  • Uses food preparation equipment per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Ensures staff are familiar with ingredients, preparation, and taste of menu items.
  • Works with front-of-house to ensure timely service, food quality, and plate presentation.

Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Has the ability to complete an accurate inventory count each month and has a firm understanding of cost of goods sold.
  • Attends a monthly kitchen staff meeting that covers training, the area’s progress since the prior month, safety, and basic financials that can pertain to the entire department.
  • Assists the Executive Chef in planning all menus with the club’s Food and Beverage Director.
  • Follows standards to ensure consistency in food taste and presentation.
  • Prepares meats, seafood, vegetable, and other items required for the line.
  • Carefully follows standard recipes when preparing all items.
  • Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Ensure that all restaurant staff are familiar with the key ingredients, preparation, and taste of all menu items.
  • Works closely with the front of the house service team to ensure expedient ticket times, excellent food quality, and proper plate presentation.
  • Conducts periodic inventories as needed.
  • Work within controls to minimize waste and prevent theft.
  • Incorporates safe work practices and safe food handling standards.
  • Arrive to work on time, with full neat and clean uniform including safety shoes and tools, ready to work immediately.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day/night shifts, weekends and holidays

Education and Experience
