Job Description

Summary of Position: Line Cooks are leaders in the Big Chill Beach Club kitchen and are responsible for fueling food passion to our staff. Line Cooks must accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products, as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. They also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all plates. Must Enjoy the Ride!

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, saute burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set-up for all dishes
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations; assist others in closing the kitchen whenever possible & appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Manager On Duty
  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the Beach Club at all times
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of full-service restaurant kitchen experience desired
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)
  • Must be able to stand, reach, bend, squat, and lift during shift
  • Must possess a friendly, hardworking demeanor with a passion for hospitality and providing top-notch guest service
  • Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed; ability to balance personal & professional life
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; must possess ability to be organized in a changing environment
Hours & Pay
