Job summary

The Peacock Inn in New Jersey seeks an experienced Line Cook to join our rewarding culinary team. You will follow recipes, manage portions, and produce high-quality dishes across kitchen stations, while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication, dependability, and the ability to work weekends and varied shifts. Spanish language skills are a plus. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Spanish language ability is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Executes service and production of food for all areas of the kitchen.
• Recognizes quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by Kitchen Manager.
• Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Handles food in compliance with local health department guidelines.
• Follow safety regulations and report injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, and evenings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-developed multitasking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

We are currently seeking an experienced, energetic, and team-oriented Line Cook for its rewarding team.

Essential Functions

• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
• Executes service and production of food products for all/any areas of the kitchen
• Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, and all storage areas
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager
• Maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
• Handle food in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines
• Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense
• Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene
• Comply with department’s dress code
• Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, evenings.
