The Line Cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. The role involves producing small to large batch goods using classical cooking techniques.

Responsible for food preparation for residents in a Senior Living / Healthcare environment, following standardized recipes to ensure quality and consistency. Maintain high sanitation standards and comply with organizational, federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Food preparation: Prepare and cook foods to order, operate kitchen equipment, follow recipes, and ensure food safety and quality.
  2. Cleaning, Storage and Sanitation: Sanitize workstations and equipment, assist with setup and cleanup, and properly store food items.
  3. Safety and Risk Management: Follow safety policies, participate in safety training, and report hazards.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Current Food Handler’s Permit required; Servsafe training and sanitation certification beneficial.
  • Desired 3-4 years of related experience, with proficiency in kitchen equipment and knife skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Extensive kitchen and food prep knowledge, effective communication skills, ability to read and follow recipes, and computer literacy.
  • Dependable, organized, patient, and able to work independently and handle emergency situations calmly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, bending, reaching, and extended periods of walking or standing.
