Job summary

Hilton Madison Monona Terrace in Madison, WI is seeking a Line Cook to join our Culinary team. You will craft high-quality dishes, read recipes, and work with a supportive team to deliver memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• Basic experience in a kitchen setting with knife skills and sanitation knowledge.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions from the Chef.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and stations.
• Understanding of food waste control.
• Ability to read orders from the POS system.
• Strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and ingredients prior to service.
• Read and prepare menu items quickly and accurately from recipes.
• Prepare food for team member meals.
• Perform inventory checks on perishables and flag expirations.
• Assist with banquet prep and production to meet client expectations.
• Ensure coolers and prep areas are clean and organized after shifts.
• Store food properly with correct labeling and rotation.
• Maintain food quality and sanitation before, during, and after service.
• Support the team with additional tasks as assigned.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Cook, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality meals for both guests and team members. Every day brings variety, teamwork, and opportunities to sharpen your culinary skills, including:

• Setting up equipment and ingredients prior to service
• Reading and preparing menu items quickly and accurately according to provided recipes
• Preparing food for team member meals
• Performing inventory checks on perishable items and notifying leadership of products nearing expiration
• Assisting with banquet preparation and production to meet client expectations
• Ensuring coolers and prep areas are cleaned, organized, and properly secured at the end of each shift
• Storing food correctly, following proper labeling and rotation procedures
• Maintaining food quality and sanitation standards before, during, and after service
• Supporting the team with additional tasks as assigned
