Position Overview:

As a Line Cook at Casaléna, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes to meet the demands of our fast-paced dining establishment. Your culinary expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure will contribute to delivering high-quality meals and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires a passion for food, strong cooking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-output environment.

Hours: 8am-3:30pm AM / 3:30pm-12am PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Cooking:
  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, portioned, and prepared before cooking.
  • Monitor food cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of ingredients
  • Station Setup and Organization:
  • Set up and stock your assigned cooking station with all necessary ingredients, equipment, and utensils before service.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cooking station, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and work surfaces.
  • Timely Execution and Plating:
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of food items.
  • Adhere to established ticket times and prioritize orders based on customer preferences and kitchen workload.
  • Plate and garnish dishes according to presentation standards, paying attention to detail and aesthetics.
  • Quality Control and Menu Knowledge:
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
  • Stay up-to-date with menu changes, special offerings, and ingredients to provide accurate information to customers and handle any dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Kitchen Efficiency and Safety:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and efficiency during peak service times.
  • Follow proper kitchen procedures and adhere to health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of equipment and food products.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen manager or supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant or similar environment.
  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
