About The Position

Shift: Weekdays, Weekends, am/pm

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for enhancing the overall Resident experience through exceptional food production and control of the quality and quantity of all food items prepared in the station: i.e. meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, desserts, etc. The Line Cook is to model The Sterling Touch professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely manner, resulting in a very high level of satisfaction for Residents and their guests. The position is under the guidance of the Executive Chef and adheres to community standards, processes, procedures, and philosophy.

Qualifications And Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship, preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen, preferred.
  • Experience with scratch cooking and sauté/broiler techniques, preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to manage kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate all kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, reach, and work continuously, lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform all functions within varying temperature ranges.
