Responsibilities

Basic functions of a Line Cook include:

• Preparing recipes and cooking menu items to specifications
• Receiving and ordering products
• Labeling, dating, covering, and refrigerating prepped food items
• Performing opening, closing, and side duties such as setting up, stocking, and breaking down kitchen equipment and stations
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, line, expo, dish room, and back dock
• Following safety and sanitation standards
• Working with a sense of urgency
• Reading order tickets or automated Kitchen Display System accurately
• Assembling orders, ensuring product quality and specifications
• Demonstrating product knowledge
• Handling special procedures for re-cook, long tickets, large parties, or vouchers

Qualifications

Job requirements include:

• Previous line cook experience
• Ability to stand or move for extended periods
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to recycle products where possible
• Remaining calm in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
• Positive and friendly attitude toward guests and colleagues
