Job summary

Discovery Land Company is seeking a Line Cook for Atlantic Fields near Hobe Sound, FL. You will stock, prep, and cook menu items, following standard recipes and portion controls to ensure consistent quality for members and guests.

Qualifications

• 2 years of full-service restaurant experience as a Line Cook or relevant position preferred.
• Farm-to-table experience highly desired.
• Degree/Certification(s) recommended; knowledge of F&B operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Stock the kitchen with raw materials and ingredients daily.
• Master all basic cooking methods.
• Acquire ingredients daily for assigned station.
• Help and prepare food items as per standard recipe cards with portion control.
• Maintain and clean equipment on a regular basis.
• Adhere to health and safety standards; follow policies and procedures.
• Plate and present food accordingly.
• Education yourself with knowledge of all menu items and ingredients.
• Demonstrate urgency in responding to guest needs.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of Hobe Sound, FL.

Atlantic Fields is seeking a Line Cook to join the Food and Beverage - Culinary Department.

The Line Cook is responsible To provide exceptional experiences and memories for members, guests, and prospects during their visits. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock the kitchen with raw materials and ingredients on a daily basis
• Master all basic cooking methods
• Acquire ingredients daily for assigned station
• Help and prepare food items as per standard recipe cards whilst maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
• Maintain and clean equipment on a regular basis
• Promptly report any hazards, unsafe working conditions, or equipment which requires repair/maintenance
• Adhere to all Department of Health food & safety standards
• Comply with company and department policies and procedures at all times
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas at all times
• Execution of recipes and ability to follow recipes and all house-made ingredients promptly and efficiently
• All food should be plated and presented accordingly
• Education yourself with extensive knowledge of all menu items and ingredients
• Demonstrate sense of urgency for responding to guest needs during all interactions
• Any other duties as assigned

• Thorough understanding of all occupational health and safety issues.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
