Overview

Are you looking to hone your skills as a line cook? Athens Diner, Colchester VT is looking for like-minded individuals who want to produce in a fast-paced work environment that will put those skills to the test. The women of Athens know how to get it done, are you ready to step up?

Current serving hours are 6 am - 2 pm, Wednesday – Sunday. The kitchen staff receives one free meal per day, free uniforms and cleaning. All employees preferably 21 years and older may participate in a company-sponsored 401k plan after 12 months of employment and 1000 hours of service. Safe Harbor NEC of 3% for all and company match up to 3% for participating employees.

Compensation - Negotiable

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.
• Familiar with industry best practices.

Line Cook Job Responsibilities

• Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintains cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
