Essential Duties:

1. Learn and maintain standards in food production and quality.
2. Expedite orders in a timely manner.
3. Practice excellent operational sanitation.
4. Execute scheduled banquet functions.
5. Maintain a professional relationship with fellow associates.
6. Help reduce loss/waste.
7. Communicate equipment repair needs with the chef.
8. Actively participate in training efforts.
9. Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
10. Attend staff meetings.
11. Check and date all deliveries received and report any variances to the chef in charge.
12. Verify that all coolers are at proper temperatures and are cleaned daily.
13. Requisition and receive supplies necessary for quality production.
14. Prepare the appropriate amount of food according to production or forecast sheets and plans.
15. Prepare items in accordance with established recipes to ensure consistency.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; and to speak effectively before groups of customers or staff.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed or simple instructions; handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stand, walk, talk, or hear. Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell. Regularly use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. Frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Vision Requirements:

Regularly use close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Environment/Noise:

Occasionally work in wet, humid, or cold conditions. Frequently work in hot environments. The workplace noise level is loud.

Certificates/Licenses:

Applicable Sanitation Training required.
