Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Line Cook to support dining services across our nursing centers. You will assist with meal preparation, serve meals at various dining locations, and help ensure meals meet prescribed patient diets while maintaining consistent mealtime schedules.

The role requires reading and following written and oral directions in English, with a culinary degree or two years in a restaurant setting. Serve-Safe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral directions in the English language.
• Culinary Arts degree or certification or a minimum of two years culinary experience in the restaurant environment required.
• Serve-Safe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with food preparation following menus, recipes, and menu systems to prepare and serve meals, snacks, and nourishments in accordance to prescribed patient diets and requests.
• Serves meals/foods in various dining locations, including point-of-service made to order foods as requested.
• Meets established mealtime schedules for all dining locations.
• Always handles and prepares food in a safe and sanitary manner with proper labels, dates, and monitors food temperatures and acts on temperatures that fall outside of appropriate ranges.
• Sets-up, cleans-up and properly stores food and supplies needed for meal service in all dining locations.
