Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the F&B Manager / Lead Cook, this position will serve, clean, prepare food and complete other related tasks with emphasis on food preparation and on independent work.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Must follow procedures, schedules and assignments preciselyMust be able to follow basic recipes and cooking methods for all food preparation according to food handlers' guidelinesMust be able to perform repetitive tasks and be able to adapt to changing procedures job duties and responsibilities.Must be able to communicate with prep cook and serversMust have knowledge and ability to use kitchen equipment and following all safety guidelines for the operation of all kitchen equipment, safely break down, clean and reassemble equipment.Uses sharp objects to cut or peel food items.Must be able to work in fast pace and hot environment with ability to multitask.Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of timeMust be able to work all shifts and holidaysMust practice good personal hygiene.Follows sanitation practices, safe food storage, and correct procedures for handling refrigerated, frozen and dry stored items.Follows proper closing procedures and cleanup of your assigned station.Must be able to label and date all food stored and rotate as neededReports any food items that need to be ordered or any spoilage of product to the supervisor.All other duties as assigned by F&B Management.QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of food production and menu planningKnowledge and commitment to use proper sanitation and food preparation procedures as outlined in casino and department handbook, HACCP and OSHA.Food Handlers Certificate requiredOrganized and attentive to detailsMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Ability to be a team player and motivatorCommitment to professionalism, to include optimal verbal and non-verbal communicationBilingual (preferred but not required)At least 18 years of ageMust be able to complete the 90-day introductory period in consecutive days as scheduledAbility to obtain and maintain a Cahuilla Gaming License and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing.Ability to obtain a California State Driver’s License.Ability to complete necessary Casino Essentials courses to carry out the job responsibilities.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
