Job summary

Apache Casino Hotel is seeking a dedicated team member for dishwashing and kitchen support. You will maintain cleanliness of Food & Beverage areas, operate dishwashing equipment, and ensure proper sanitation across all outlets.

The role requires adherence to safety standards and guidelines, with attention to detail in handling inventory and supplies. Applicants should be able to read, write, and understand English; a background check and drug screen are required, and a local food handler permit

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and clean all Food & Beverage areas and equipment
  • Operate dishwashing machine and wash ware promptly and thoroughly
  • Follow safety standards and rotate food products as required
  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Move supplies and equipment and keep storage areas organized
  • Adhere to casino policies and dress code; maintain neat appearance

Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of always providing exceptional serviceTransport, clean and maintain all cooking utensils, pots and pans and service ware, maintaining dishwashing area in conjunction with service staff and management in order to provide cooks, bussers and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests’ dining experienceMaintain, clean, and keep organized all Food and Beverage operational facilities areas, including service equipment, coolers, freezer, dry pantry food storage areas, and storage facilitiesFollow all safety standards about food handling and the policies and protocols for proper rotation of food products received and usedEnsure that proper chemicals are applied within all food handling areas to include the dishwasher and three-compartment sinksMaintain all testing supplies to ensure sanitary conditions exist during normal operationFulfill the above functions in all Food and Beverage operational venues and outletsAccept and properly inventory all Food and Beverage deliveries, for example produce, meats, groceries, and paper productsTransport and properly dispose of all garbage to dumpsters or compactor. Clean and maintain trash receptacles and transportation carts and dolliesPromptly and carefully sort soiled service ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly; quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated. Physical strength and stamina are essential due to the high activity levelOperate dishwashing machine to ensure proper finish on silverware; clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work; keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per Apache Casino Hotel standards; de-tarnish/polish silver for proper appearancePerform general cleaning tasks using standard Apache Casino Hotel cleaning products; clean up unexpected spills, clean and dry floors to prevent slip/fall accidents, separate linen from other debrisMove supplies and equipmentPerform daily tasks including preparation of food products as directed and assigned by Food and Beverage management and culinary management team membersAdvise Food & Beverage Management of any safety hazards and/or violations to insure prompt remedyReport any suspicious persons or activity to a supervisor immediatelyPerform other duties as requested by your reporting supervisor, including cross-trainingUnderstand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.Regular attendance is required.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel- days, evenings, graveyards, holidays and/or weekends. We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events, and peak seasons as they occur. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.The team member will be exposed to various foods and chemicals as well as latex. While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test. Following hire, the team member will be required to obtain a local food handler permit.A combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, with a high school diploma or GED preferredNo prior experience required but prior hospitality experience preferredAbility to listen effectively and to read, write, and speaks English to comprehend and communicate job functions, comprehend job requests and to read Material Safety Data Sheets and similar written materials
