Job summary

Cahuilla Casino Hotel is hiring for a Mountain Sky Associate to deliver excellent customer service while handling cashiering, stocking, inventory, and food preparation duties. The role requires adherence to ABC laws for alcohol sales and strong teamwork with supervisors and co-workers.

Position Summary

The Mountain Sky Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service at all times while performing all shift duties, including cashiering, store maintenance, stocking, inventory, and food preparation.

Responsibilities, Duties, & Qualifications

  • Ring up all sales on the POS properly and accurately, handling money, debit, and credit transactions
  • Ability to multi‑task, along with cleaning duties necessary to maintain site cleanliness inside and out
  • Adhere to all ABC laws to ensure responsible alcohol sales
  • Process document requirements for shift, sales, and reporting
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation with supervisors and all co‑workers
  • Stock shelves with inventory, set up displays on occasion
  • Notify Manager or Assistant Manager regarding any equipment issues
  • Be flexible, punctual, and able to work as scheduled
  • Attend any job‑related meetings and follow procedures, schedules and assignments precisely
  • Follow basic recipes and cooking methods for all food preparation according to food handlers guidelines
  • Perform repetitive tasks and adapt to changing procedures, duties and responsibilities
  • Use kitchen equipment safely, following all safety guidelines; safely break down, clean and reassemble equipment
  • Use sharp objects to cut or peel food items
  • Work in a fast‑paced and hot environment with the ability to multi‑task
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Work all shifts and holidays
  • Practice good personal hygiene
  • Follow sanitation practices, safe food storage, and correct procedures for handling refrigerated, frozen, and dry stored items
  • Follow proper closing procedures and cleanup of your assigned station
  • Label and date all food stored and rotate as needed
  • Report any food items that need to be ordered or any spoilage of product to the supervisor
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Experience in retail sales, fast food service, or convenience store work preferred
  • Knowledge of food production and menu planning
  • Knowledge and commitment to use proper sanitation and food preparation procedures as outlined in casino and department handbook, HACCP and OSHA
  • Food Handlers Certificate required
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be a team player and motivator
  • Commitment to professionalism, including optimal verbal and non‑verbal communication
  • Bilingual preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Able to complete the 90‑day introductory period in consecutive days as scheduled
  • Ability to work with the equipment used to perform the job
  • Possess high school diploma or GED
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; possess basic math skills
  • Meet and pass requirements to qualify for and maintain a Cahuilla Casino Non‑Gaming Employment Badge
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds from ground to overhead
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level
  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., utilizing a hand‑truck)

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and required to move about the casino floor and exposed to a non‑smoke free environment.
