Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be able to perform physically demanding tree work.
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program after hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid and CPR and defensive driving training after hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement preferred.
• Line clearance or related tree work experience preferred.
• Licenses/certifications required by state law (as applicable).
• ISA/TCIA certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal work safely for major electric utilities.
• Trim treetops and remove damaged trees; clear limbs from lines and structures.
• Identify trees using industry pruning guidelines.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and other gear.
• Work as part of an active crew under the foreperson.
• Grow your skill and experience with Davey Tree.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Trimmer, preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL, to join our team servicing the city of Hudson, Ohio.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®

• Hourly rate from $18.00 - 22.00 based on experience and if a CDL holder.
