Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Findlay/Bowling Green area is seeking a Groundperson to support utility line clearance crews across Northwestern Ohio. This on-site role involves assisting with limbs, ropes, tool transport, traffic control, and site cleanup.

Full-time hourly position with compensation based on experience and CDL status. Eligible employees receive group health plans, disability insurance, life insurance, parental leave and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required, depending on job requirements
• Pesticide license, if required by state law
• Herbicide license a plus
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Provides support for the other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs and persons from aloft
• Supplying tools for tree workers
• Controlling road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods
• Cutting, chipping and loading brush and wood and proper job site cleanup

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
