Job summary

UC Santa Barbara is hiring a Line & Catering Cook to assist in food preparation for daily restaurant service and catering events at The Club & Guest House. You will work under the Club Chef, ensuring menu items are prepared with high quality and consistent presentation.

The role involves supporting student staff, producing hot and cold items, and adhering to CBORD recipes while maintaining safety and sanitation standards. This is a full-time, on-site position with varied hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years experience in a restaurant or high-volume culinary kitchen.
• Knowledge of culinary techniques, including sautéing, grilling, frying, steaming, sauces and stocks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation for daily restaurant items on the line.
• Support catering events and food production following recipes and standards.
• Maintain quality, presentation, sanitation and portion control.
