Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is hiring for a production role in Staunton, VA. You will read blueprints and work from schematics to assemble, test, and move components and final products in a climate-controlled facility.

The position requires reading and writing English, the ability to lift and stand for long periods, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Rresponsibilities include maintaining records and operating a variety of equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or 2 years related production experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, BOMs and routing sheets.
• Able to lift, push, and stand for long periods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, and other written or verbal instructions.
• Work with a variety of materials to meet production requirements.
• Operate tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate and move components, assemblies, and final product.
• Use measuring and testing devices and visual inspection to ensure product quality and conformance to prints and standards.
• Complete quality checklists and enter data into specified electronic systems.
• Report line issues into the appropriate data collection systems.
• Safely operate equipment to complete tasks (e.g., charging stations, water jet, evacuation pumps, tuggers, cranes).

Starting Wage: $26.24 + $2.30 differential

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 1:50 pm – 9:50 pm

Your Responsibilities

• Demonstrate compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements
• Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction
• Work with a variety of materials to complete assigned tasks to meet production requirements
• Operate various tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate and move components, assemblies, and final product
• Use measuring and testing devices as well as visual inspection to ensure quality of product and conformity to prints, work instructions and standards with the goal of eliminating internal and external escapes
• Complete required records including but not limited to quality checklists, inputs into specified electronic systems
• Report line issues into the appropriate data collection systems
• Safe operation of equipment as required to complete assigned tasks (e.g. charging stations, water jet, evacuation pumps, tuggers, cranes, etc.)

Your Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment
