Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking an onsite LIMS Specialist in Oklahoma City for a fixed-term (03/01/2027-02/29/2028) with option to renew. The role involves analyzing laboratory workflows and tuning the LIMS to meet evolving business needs, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and implementing HL7/ORU messaging as well as ARLN and PHLIP projects.

The candidate will document processes, communicate issues to PHL staff, and maintain HL7 interfaces including ELR feeds and PRS/CSV formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred with four years of professional lab experience.
• Strong familiarity with medical laboratory processes and federal regulatory statutes.
• Experience implementing HL7 ORU/HL7 messaging in a LIMS environment.

Job description

Duration: 03/01/2027-02/29/2028 with option to renew

Work Hours: 5 days in office 8AM - 5PM CST

Position: Onsite

Position Responsibilities /Essential Functions

• Analyze database and laboratory workflows and provide strategy and methods to tune and improve the LIMS
• Implement alterations to the existing LIMS to ensure the system continues to meet evolving business needs.
• Ensure that existing system functionality continues to function correctly by coordinating vendor activities and/or implementing internal activities to correct software faults as well as doing preventative maintenance and other recurring tasks.
• Collaboration with the vendor, OMES and other facilities for LIMS upgrade and the implementation.
• Write robust documentation and able to effectively communicate all LIMS related issues in a timely fashion to all PHL staff members.
• Implement and maintain APHL/CDC Public Health Laboratory Interoperability Project (PHLIP) HL7 ORU messages.
• Implement and maintain CDC Antibiotic Resistance Lab Network (ARLN) result messaging, CSV, and/or HL7 ORU.
• Implement and maintain HL7 ELR feed to OSDH Acute Disease service software.
• Development and maintenance of the PHL web accessioning page (test requisition)
• Maintenance of laboratory subnet - connection of laboratory equipment, IP configuration, file transfer, serial data connections
• Development and maintenance of LIMS visual workflows for tracking of tests/samples

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a scientific field of study; plus, four (4) years of professional experience with extensive technical knowledge of medical laboratory processes and procedures while being familiar with federal regulatory statutes governing medical laboratories.
