Job summary

Ellie Mental Health-Clarkston is actively seeking a Limited-License Mental Health Therapist (LLPC/LLMSW/LLMFT) for a full-time, W-2 commission role in Michigan. The clinic offers in-person and telehealth care with administrative support to focus on client care and professional growth.

You’ll develop caseloads with marketing support, handle scheduling, and contribute to outreach efforts while meeting licensure requirements and providing evidence-based psychotherapy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field.
• Ability to practice under supervision required for credential
• Experience with assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments and establish diagnoses within license and scope.
• Develop treatment plans and provide evidence-based psychotherapy.
• Complete intakes, notes, treatment plans, risk documentation, and other records accurately and on time.
• Submit documentation for supervisory review and co-signature.

Limited-License Mental Health Therapist - Full-Time

Ellie Mental Health-Clarkston is an independently owned private practice providing in-person and telehealth care throughout Michigan. Our furnished clinic and administrative support, including billing, allow clinicians to focus on client care and professional growth.

Compensation

This is a W-2 straight-commission position, not a salaried position. Clinicians earn a commission percentage of collected insurance and client payments for completed services, a common outpatient private-practice model. Compensation covers session preparation, client sessions, scheduling, documentation, and required meetings. Unlike a 1099 arrangement, the W-2 model includes employee benefits, employer-paid payroll taxes, and employment protections.

Caseload Development

Building and maintaining a caseload is a shared responsibility. The practice provides marketing, online scheduling, administrative support, community relationships, and practice-generated referrals. Clinicians must also maintain availability, respond promptly to referrals, support client retention, communicate their specialties, and participate in approved outreach.

Outreach may include building relationships with physicians, schools, hospitals, and community organizations. Approved outreach and caseload-development activities are paid at $20 per hour when authorized in advance.

Full-time clinicians must average at least 25 direct client-facing hours per week and initially offer approximately 35 scheduling hours per week to support caseload growth and cancellations. At least one evening is required. Additional evening or weekend availability is valuable when serving children, adolescents, and families.

Required Qualifications

• Michigan limited clinical license in good standing as an LLPC, LLMSW, LLMFT
• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Ability to practice under the supervision required for the applicable credential
• Commitment to maintaining supervision records and completing requirements toward full licensure
• Experience with assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and documentation
• Willingness to participate in caseload development and community outreach
• Strong communication, organization, dependability, boundaries, and follow-through
• Ability to serve diverse clients competently within scope of practice
• Proficiency with EHR and office technology; Valant experience is a plus
