Job summary

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, is recruiting for a Temporary Lime Room Operator to join the 2026 shipping season. Rotation is two weeks on-site with one week off-site, reporting to the Mill Shift Supervisor.

The role emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and efficient lime processing in a remote, fly-in operation. You'll operate lime slakers, move 1500 lb bags with a forklift, and perform housekeeping and shift handovers while adhering to MSHA and Red Dog EMS training

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Team player with a positive team attitude.
  • General knowledge of small tools and able to work safely with them.
  • Work day or night shifts as required.
  • Lift 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Perform labor intensive work for extended periods of time in and out of a confined space.
  • Driver license is preferred.
  • Ability to manage time independently with limited supervision.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Committed to safety.
  • Previous industrial experience a benefit.
  • Experience operating and basic knowledge of equipment is a benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Mix dried lime with water to a certain temperature via lime slakers and maintains an inventory for usage in the concentrator
  • Utilize small equipment such as forklift, in order to assist in movement of 1500 lb bags of lime
  • Perform general housekeeping/clean-up including sweeping, shoveling and organization of mill area as requested
  • Communicate effectively with other operators, colleagues and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards
  • Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Role Overview

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Temporary Lime Room Operator.


2026 Shipping Season; Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 1 week off-site


Reporting to Mill Shift Supervisor
