Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the Property Manager in LIHTC properties. You will handle rent collections, certifications, inspections, and lease administration, while ensuring compliance with program rules and organization policies.

The role requires a High School diploma or Associate’s degree, LIHTC certification preferred, 1+ year in property management, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of housing management, HUD, LIHTC, and fair housing laws.
• Experience with LIHTC certifications and annual recertifications.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect rent, security deposits, and other income; maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with leasing intake team to manage waitlists.
• Enforce lease terms and community rules; issue notices for delinquencies.
• Prepare move-in certifications and annual recertifications; compute incomes/assets.
• Inspect/show units; prepare leases; coordinate with DCHA; certify annually.
• Enter work orders in systems; review service orders; handle maintenance requests.
• Assist in inspections and audits.
