Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks a Lighting and Technology Manager (part-time, 28 hours/week) to design and operate stage lighting for the Department of Dance, coordinating with CFAC and touring productions locally and internationally.

The role involves mentoring student crews, overseeing load-ins, and ensuring safe backstage operations while supporting rehearsals and performances across campus and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years stage and theatre production experience.
• Familiarity with theatrical lighting, sound, video, scenic, props, costumes, and backstage operations.
• Ability to design and implement artistic lighting designs.
• Familiarity with ETC Eos lighting consoles.
• Strong communication with directors, guest artists, staff, customers and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Design stage lighting for Department of Dance performances.
• Program cues and operate lighting systems.
• Coordinate lighting, audio, and video with CFAC production team.
• Assist with load-in/load-out and operation of stage equipment.
• Mentor student employees in basic stage technical systems and operations.
• Collaborate with production team to realize directors' and choreographers' artistic visions.
