Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design campus electrical systems, lighting, and power distribution, ensuring NEC compliance and high-quality project outcomes.

You will translate needs into working design documents, prepare cost estimates, review installations, stamp designs, and coordinate with campus departments, architects, engineers, and city authorities to deliver renovations and new buildings on schedule.

Qualifications

• Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) or eligible for licensure.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, ADA requirements and IES lighting standards.
• Experience with electrical design and campus projects.

Responsibilities

• Translate needs into working design documents for projects.
• Design electrical plans for lighting, power distribution and control systems.
• Prepare cost estimates and review project budgets.
• Inspect installations for code compliance and quality.
• Coordinate with campus departments, architects, engineers and city authorities.
• Review and stamp electrical designs for approval.
