Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC is seeking a Lighting Technician A with at least three years of experience to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment. The role involves climbing, working from aerial devices, ladders, and ground level to ensure safe, compliant lighting installations.

You will read prints, isolate circuits, collaborate with property owners, and support larger lighting projects.

Qualifications

  • Three years of lighting experience.
  • Ability to work with energized high voltage systems.
  • Must be able to climb structures and carry tools.
  • Must identify, operate and service lighting tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Clear work area and maintain safe jobsite conditions.
  • Excavate to install structures or cable as required by contract specifications.
  • Communicate with public/private property owners about work to be performed.
  • Read prints and determine how to isolate protection circuits.
  • Participate in medium to large lighting construction activities.
  • Perform other duties related to lighting power supply installation.
  • Safely work on voltages up to 600 volts.
  • Assist a lower-level technician in lighting construction and maintenance.

Lighting Technician A

Job description summary

Lighting position with at least three years of experience that works from aerial devices, ladders, and ground level to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Clears work area and maintains safe jobsite conditions.
  • Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
  • Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
  • Read prints and determine how to isolate protection circuits.
  • Participate in medium to large lighting construction activities.
  • Any other duties related to the installation of lighting power supply.
  • Safely work on voltage 600 volts or less.
  • Assist a lower-level technician in lighting construction and maintenance activities.
  • All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
  • Three years of lighting experience.
  • Fully understand lighting work activities.
  • Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
  • Must have knowledge of working with energized high voltage systems requiring specific skill set.
  • Must be able to climb different structures and possess the tools to do the climb.
  • Must be able to identify, operate and service all required tools and equipment. (i.e., bucket truck, digger derrick truck, tensioners, puller, rollers, hand tamp, chain saw, concrete saw, shovel)
Education and experience
  • Be able to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and any certifications that you have obtained during your career.
Traveling Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
Driver License
  • Valid CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain valid CDL within 90 days of employment. If unable to obtain, please discuss this during the interview process.
Safety
  • Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8 or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
