Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking Lighting Engineers from Engineer to Principal Engineer level to support Local Government and Strategic Road Network capabilities.

You will design, analyze and document lighting schemes, liaise with manufacturers, and help drive proposals and project delivery. You will join a growing, multi-disciplinary team of lighting professionals, with access to CPD, advanced training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Proficient in lighting design software such as Lighting Reality or Dialux and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of external lighting standards, guidance and regulations.
• General awareness of electrical design and lighting maintenance operations.
• Experience leading projects and coaching junior members.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design layouts, drawings and documentation per QA and client specs.
• Prepare feasibility reports, option studies and specifications.
• Engage with luminaire, column, controls and electrical manufacturers.
• Coordinate with contractors, respond to RFIs and TQs.
• Visit sites to support lighting assessments and clearance drawings.
• Assist in project proposals and track progress against milestones and budgets.
• Build relationships with Local Authority and Strategic Road Network clients.
• Analyze client briefs and provide expert guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members on career development and best practices.
• Represent WSP in the lighting industry and drive business development.
