Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lighting Intern to join the Baltimore office for a 12-week summer program. You will work with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in lighting design, calculations, and documentation.

Open to undergraduate or graduate students in Electrical Engineering or related fields. The internship starts May 19, 2025, with a flexible start date and no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with a graduation date of Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Lighting or related field and desire to advance skills at WSP.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start date.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic principles of Lighting Design.
• Collaborate with design team members to develop design concepts.
• Perform basic lighting calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of design documents.
• Assist in selecting and specifying lighting fixtures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
