CMTA (a Legence company) is seeking a Lighting Design Intern/Co-op for Summer 2027 in Fairfax, VA. The role focuses on LED lighting upgrades, energy calculations, and CAD-produced construction documents, supporting project managers and field teams.

The program offers hands-on experience with Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts and exposure to multiple stages of project development in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BSEE, preferably a sophomore (2nd year) or junior (3rd year).
• CAD experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
• Ability to travel for field work.

Responsabilités

• Assist in all aspects of the project development phase – including site visits, building audits.
• Energy calculations in relation to lighting upgrades.
• Produce detailed construction documents using CAD for LED lighting upgrades.
• Support material procurement and construction management staff during implementation of lighting upgrades.
• Field verify proper installation and implementation of LED lighting upgrades.
