Working from home, the School Psychologist will support students’ learning, social development, and mental and behavioral health using problem solving, assessment, data-based decision-making, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions. The School Psychologist will collaborate and consult with educators, families, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize varied models and methods of assessment and data collection for identifying strengths and needs of individual students and the broader school community, developing effective services and programs, and measuring progress and outcomes;
- Consult and collaborate with colleagues, students, families, and other stakeholders to promote effective implementation of services;
- Use assessment and data collection methods to implement and evaluate services that support cognitive, academic, social, behavioral, and mental health needs;
- Develop and implement practices and strategies to create and maintain effective and supportive learning environments, including positive behavior interventions and supports;
- Promote services that enhance learning, mental and behavioral health, safety, and physical well-being, and respond to crises effectively;
- Facilitate family and school partnerships and collaborate with community agencies to improve academic and social-behavioral outcomes;
- Provide professional services that respect diversity and promote social justice, ensuring effective functioning for individuals, families, and schools of diverse backgrounds;
- Evaluate and apply research to inform service delivery, utilizing technology and data analysis techniques;
- Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards, demonstrating effective communication, interpersonal, and technology skills, and a commitment to ethical practice;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Michigan residency
- Accredited graduate degree at the specialist level or higher (minimum 60 graduate semester hours and 1,200-hour supervised internship, with at least 600 hours in a school setting)
- Current or eligible for Michigan School Psychologist license/certificate
- National School Psychologist Certification
- Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized, punctual, and customer-focused
- Flexible, with strong problem-solving, consultation, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with leadership qualities
