Foss Maritime seeks a Lightering Engineer in Long Beach, CA to maintain and operate lightering gear, support shoreside maintenance, and assist offshore transfer operations. The role requires maritime knowledge, ability to operate forklifts and vehicles, and flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of seamanship and safe marine work practices.
• Ability to attend, understand, and complete required training and certification courses.
• Ability to operate forklifts and company vehicles; may qualify for crane certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support lightering gear and related equipment shoreside.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and trucks for maintenance and logistics.
• Assist offshore lightering operations under supervision of Lightering Masters.
• Support mooring, vessel coordination, and safety procedures.
• Participate in emergency response and environmental safety activities.
