Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to ensure wheeled vehicles are ready for the road, both in the field and in the shop. You will inspect, service, maintain, repair, test and replace components, and perform recovery operations and electrical system work.

Training is paid and leads to civilian opportunities. Basic Training, followed by Advanced Individual Training, provides pay and benefits, including tuition assistance and retirement options for part-time

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform maintenance and recovery on wheeled vehicles in field and shop.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair and test vehicle systems and components.
• Service electrical systems including wiring harness and charging systems.
