Brief Description

We are seeking an experienced Light & Medium-Duty Truck Technician to join our team. In this role, you will handle a healthy mix of customer-pay work, retail truck service, and light-to-medium fleet repairs. From everyday personal pickups to commercial vans, cutaways, and service bodies, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles to the highest safety and reliability standards.

The ideal candidate is skilled across diverse gas and diesel platforms, communicates clearly through digital multi-point inspections, and enjoys working in a collaborative, team-oriented shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, service, and repair light- and medium-duty trucks, vans, and full-size SUVs (both retail customer vehicles and work trucks).
  • Complete a clear, thorough multi-point inspection (MPI) video walkthrough on every vehicle, highlighting fluid conditions, wear items, tire/brake measurements, and necessary repairs for customer transparency.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs across major vehicle systems, including brakes, steering, suspension, cooling, driveline, fuel systems, and engine/drivability concerns.
  • Service both gasoline and light/medium diesel powertrains (including maintenance, turbo/injector diagnostics, and emissions systems).
  • Partner with Service Advisors to build transparent, accurate estimates and clearly explain repair recommendations for retail customers.
  • Document inspection findings, diagnostic steps, labor times, and completed repairs clearly on electronic repair orders.
  • Road-test vehicles before and after repairs to verify customer concerns and ensure top-tier repair quality.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work bay in compliance with all dealership and OSHA safety protocols.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
  • Licensing (Required): Valid Pennsylvania State Safety Inspection and Emissions licenses (current and in good standing).
  • Brand Experience: Prior Ford dealership or Ford certified training is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3+ years of professional automotive repair experience, with proven comfort working on light- to medium-duty trucks (e.g., F-150 through F-550, Transit, and comparable makes/models).
  • Powertrain Knowledge: Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills on both gas and light/medium diesel engines.
  • Inspection Standard: Thorough understanding of multi-point inspection processes and comfort recording concise, professional video walkthroughs for retail customers.
  • Tools: Own inventory of professional automotive tools and diagnostic equipment suitable for light/medium truck service.
  • Certifications: ASE certifications are a plus.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation structure based on experience and certifications (flat-rate with strong productivity incentives)
  • Steady, year-round workflow balancing loyal retail customer traffic with light fleet service
  • Dedicated, modern truck bays equipped with appropriate heavy-capacity lifts and factory diagnostic tools
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • Ongoing manufacturer-paid training, factory certification programs, and career progression
