Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District in Texas is seeking a Light Equipment Operator to operate loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and dump trucks under supervision. The operator will perform routine maintenance and ensure safe operation per regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least two years operating construction-type equipment.
  • Preference for Class C Distribution or Type II Collections license (TCEQ).
  • Valid Texas CDL required or to be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Operate loaders, backhoes, skid steers with minimal supervision.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned units.
  • Act as Lead Maintenance Worker when not operating equipment.
  • Follow safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Repair water and sewer lines per regulations.
  • Attain proficiency in Maximo CMMS.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays; participate in on-call shifts and overtime.
  • Attend required safety training.
  • Stay current on light equipment safety operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
