Job summary

City of Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a workforce member to perform routine semi-skilled operation of motorized equipment under supervision. Qualifications

• Some knowledge of operating and servicing trucks and related lightweight construction equipment.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina Commercial (CDL) driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operates a tandem dump truck and other equipment in connection with the transportation of sand, stone, gravel and supplies.
• Operates a light truck in carrying tools, equipment and supplies to and from repair jobs.
• Operates a motor truck engaged in sanding and plowing icy streets and roads and in snow removal; occasionally services and performs minor repairs on equipment.
• Operates a tar distributor used in road maintenance; as a trainee.
• Operates medium or heavy equipment; when not operating equipment, performs semi-skilled work at job site.
