Job summary

RRD in Illinois is seeking a 2nd shift machine operator to run offline binding and finishing equipment and prepare for production runs.

You will clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery, troubleshoot issues, and may train new crew members. The 11:00pm–7:00am shift emphasizes safety, productivity, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Familiar with routine operating procedures to set up and operate equipment following step-by-step instructions.
• Maintain machine operating and maintenance records and identify basic labels and documentation.
• Ability to identify improper machine operation and perform basic adjustments.

Job Description

• 2nd shift (11:00pm to 7:00am)
• Operate offline and auxiliary binding/finishing/packaging equipment
• Set up and adjusts machine and equipment for production runs
• Clean, lubricate and maintain machine to ensure its optimum operation
• May troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance as needed
• May coordinate the assignment of crewmembers and may provide training for new team members

Qualifications

• Requires familiarity with routine operating procedures of equipment which can be set up and operated following a few step by step instructions and the skill to operate the equipment
• Requires skill to perform minor clerical tasks incidental to the operation of the equipment (e.g., maintain machine operating and maintenance records, write new identification labels for computer tapes, etc.), and skill to perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating the equipment
• Ability to identify if improper machine operation and make basic adjustments

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $16.41 - $22.30/ hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
