The Town of Grafton is looking for a Light Equipment Operator to join the Highway and Parks/Cemetery Department. This role entails outdoor work, operating equipment for maintenance tasks, and ensuring public areas are well-kept. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant experience in equipment operation and grounds maintenance.
The Town of Grafton is seeking an individual to fill the position of Light Equipment Operator for the Highway and Parks/Cemetery’s Department. This position is responsible for performing manual work and maintenance as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to assisting within the maintenance of Town parks, monuments, cemeteries, and other common areas, operating light machinery for a variety of tasks, such as mowing, repairing roads and sidewalks, and the replacement of street signs. As well as general landscaping such as brush and tree trimming/removal, digging and pouring footings for grave markers, and participating in snow plowing operations of Town roads, parks and cemeteries.
Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma and 1 to 3 years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.
Applicants must have knowledge of operating public works equipment operation, and a fundamental knowledge of construction, grounds maintenance, and field safety. Applicants must be able to manage multiple tasks at once, meet deadlines, and perform heavy manual labor. Work for this position is primarily performed outdoors. This is a 40-hour per week Union position with a salary range of $45,468.00 to $48,963.00 DOQ.
