Job summary

CoVolt Power in Texas is seeking a Light Equipment Operator to join our field team. You will operate skid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts, perform routine maintenance, and assist with loading and unloading materials at job sites, all while upholding safety standards.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and proven experience with light construction equipment. You must be comfortable working outdoors in varied weather and collaborating with site supervisors

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience operating light construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, and cold.

Responsibilities

  • Operate light construction equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials at job sites.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure projects stay on time and within scope.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report safety concerns immediately.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Assist with manual labor when equipment is not in use.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Light Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of light construction equipment to assist in the completion of projects. Your expertise in safely and efficiently operating machinery, along with a strong attention to detail, will contribute to the overall success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate light construction equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment at job sites.
  • Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Assist with manual labor tasks as needed when equipment is not in use.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the storage of equipment and tools.

  • Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
  • This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in equipment operation (e.g., OSHA certification).
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs.
