Cornerstone Ford/Chrysler in Elk River, MN is seeking an experienced automotive technician for full-time work. The role requires a 2-year degree and at least 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience, with duties including diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles and maintaining repair records.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Accurately records all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Effectively communicates with the Service Advisor.
• Examines vehicles to determine further safety or service needs.
• Complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations and safety procedures.
• Operates tools and equipment safely and keeps work area orderly.

QualificationsPrimary duties will consist of but not limited to:

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, with little supervision
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform the necessary repairs
• Accurately records all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Effectively communicates with the Service Advisor
• Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety and or service work is required or recommended
• Understands, keeps updated on and complies with Federal, State and Local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner and wears appropriate safety equipment
• Ensures that customers cars are kept clean
• Keeps shop areas neat and clean

Education and/or Experience:

• Technician with 3+ years of experience
• Experience with working on all types of vehicles

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current, valid Drivers License with driving record that meets insurance company standards
• Willing to submit and the ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Detail-oriented and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, lift and stand on your feet for extended periods of time
