Job summary

Apple Ford White Bear Lake is seeking an Automotive Light Duty Technician to perform repair orders with dealership standards and to document repairs clearly for right-first-time fixes.

You will inspect and maintain shop equipment, repair systems such as steering, suspension, braking, and AC, and explain diagnoses in plain terms to service advisors. Ongoing training on new vehicle tech is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an automotive technician preferred.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Team oriented, flexible, high energy and focused on customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.

• Consistently and concisely detail and document repairs to ensure vehicles are fixed right the first time.
• Inspect and maintain shop equipment.
• Repair vehicle automotive systems including steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors.
• Inspect and test used vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
• Continue ongoing training to stay abreast of the new technology and techniques on the vehicle model lines.
• Sit, stand and walk; use hands; speak and hear; vision; drive a vehicle.

Compensation: $22.00 - $30.00

What You’ll Do

• Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Work independently and as a team to drive maximum repair efficiency.
• Consistently and concisely detail and document repairs to ensure vehicles are fixed right the first time.
• Inspect and maintain shop equipment.
• Repair vehicle automotive systems including steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
