Job summary

Pima County Fleet Services seeks an Automotive Specialist I (Light-Duty) to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light-duty vehicles up to one ton. You will ensure safety, update maintenance records, and assist with upfits and training of junior technicians.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with relevant experience. A valid driver license is required and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing light-duty vehicles up to 1 ton.
• Relevant experience and/or education from a college or university may be substituted as noted; must be documented in the application.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on light-duty gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles up to 1 ton.
• Conduct daily inspections of the service bay for safety and cleanliness.
• Repair and diagnose vehicle systems including electrical components and emissions.
• Maintain service records in fleet management software.
• Upfit vehicles with emergency lighting and other equipment as needed.
• Mentor junior technicians and work with safety procedures.
