Job description

Job Title: LiftSystem Service Engineer

Working Pattern: Full time

Working Location: Indianapolis, IN/Hybrid - 3 Office Days/Week

The LiftSystem Service Engineering team provides technical support for in-service events and proactive analyses to ensure safe operation and eliminate future customer disruptions. Responsibilities include leading the execution of Engineering Investigations (EIs), including Red Top investigations, to determine root causes of in-service events, reviewing data related to system health report codes (HRCs), and responding to Technical Queries (TQ) / Technical Variances (TV) in response to customer issues. The Engineer will lead multidisciplinary teams comprising design, materials engineering, deployed services, and program personnel to resolve customer issues promptly and proactively identify threats to prevent field events.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborating within the Service Engineering team and with other LiftSystem support teams to enhance service quality.
  • Applying innovative ideas and techniques to solve technical problems, improve reliability, reduce costs, and ease maintenance.
  • Leading technical discussions during product safety reviews and in-service evaluations with regulatory and airworthiness authorities as needed.
  • Representing the Service Engineering Technical Lead and Chief Service Engineer internally and with customers, maintaining a professional and positive image.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering, or
  • JD/PhD
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for this role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in root cause investigation and evidence-based practices.
  • Support of safety investigations (Red Tops) involving Rolls-Royce products.
  • Experience discussing complex technical issues with customers and regulators.
  • Strong knowledge of the LiftSystem and its interfaces at system and module levels.
  • Understanding of LiftSystem assembly and on-wing maintenance.
  • Ability to develop relationships with FSRs and overhaul facilities to influence operations and practices.
