Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a warehouse forklift operator at our Georgia facility. Operate gas or electric forklifts to move materials, load and unload goods, and stack pallets in designated areas.

You will perform pre-shift inspections, maintain production records, and follow all safety procedures. A High School Diploma is preferred, with forklift certification and 6+ months of experience recommended.

Qualifications

• Lift Truck Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary Objective

Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklift and/or elevated platform to move materials. Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines.

Major Function And Scope

• Operates a pole, reach, or sheet truck
• Must be able to perform the following duties: Operates drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas
• Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material
• Moves pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas
• Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers
• Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment
• Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices
• Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines
• Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required
• Records quality and output measures and completes any other necessary paperwork
• Performing a pre-shift daily inspection on the lift truck
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Type Of Experience And Knowledge

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Lift Truck Certification preferred
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• 6+ months of forklift experience preferred
• Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred
