Job summary

Black Bear Talent is seeking 3rd shift Lift Truck Operators to keep production moving overnight. You will operate forklift equipment for material handling, load and unload materials, and maintain accurate inventory records. A valid driver’s license is required and shift hours are 10:20 PM to 6:30 AM.

Pay rate is $24.00 per hour. Candidates should have basic experience with WMS and scanner software, and be able to work in a manufacturing environment with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Scanner Inventory software.
  • Valid driver's license with a clear driving record is required.

Responsibilities

  • Reads scanner manifest or follows instructions to identify materials to move.
  • Operates forklift and other powered industrial equipment for loading and moving materials.
  • Loads/unloads materials onto pallets, trailers, and racks and secures with straps.
  • Records units moved and communicates shortages or discrepancies.
  • Maintains equipment and reports issues to supervisor.

Job description

Black Bear Talent is hiring 3rd Shift Lift Truck Operators ready to keep production moving through the night! The 3rd shift Lift Truck Operators are responsible for the functioning of forklift trucks for material handling and procurement in the Shipping department.

3rd Shift Hours: 10:20PM - 6:30AM

Pay Rate $24.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reads scanner manifest or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Operates powered industrial equipment to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, racks, trailers, conveyors, float boards.
  • Loads materials into trucks or trailers and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Reports product discrepancies or damage appropriately.
  • Records number of units of materials moved or handled either electronically or onto proper forms.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
  • Maintains proper operation of assigned powered industrial equipment.
  • Stacks cases by hand and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor to assist meeting product orders.
  • Operates robot machinery and panel controls to relieve area personnel or fill-in, as needed.
  • Conducts inspections of equipment and records results either electronically or on paper consistent with the standard operating procedure.
  • Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as cleaning, dislodging material in racks, or replacing rollers.
  • Removes and stores float boards into holding bins.
  • Operates and maintains radios, batteries and scanners in good condition.
  • Monitors for adequate inventories and communicates shortages to appropriate personnel.
  • Participates in physical inventories as needed.
  • Demonstrates workplace behavior that is consistent with company policies and values.
  • Communicates job information to accomplish work tasks.
  • Maintains good attendance as defined by company and/or department policy.
  • Practices good personal hygiene and maintains a clean work area.
  • Exercises personal safety on the job and demonstrates a commitment to the safety of others and our products.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Scanner Inventory software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • To operate industrial power equipment consisting of Lift Truck, Scissorlift and Battery Hoist.
  • A valid drivers license with a clear driving record - REQUIRED

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This job is in a manufacturing environment, where fast-moving machinery drives the work pace.
