Job summary

Pratt Industries in Park City, KS is hiring a Forklift Operator. You will move various sized units from sources to staging areas, keep precise records of locations, and help with light maintenance and housekeeping.

A valid forklift certification and safety focus are required, with two years of forklift experience preferred. Must be able to read a tape measure, follow scanner-driven inventory, and work weekends in a 3rd shift (10pm–6am).

Forklift Operator

Starting at $21.34 an hour plus $0.75 shift differential.

Reports to: Shipping Supervisor

Shift: 3rd (10pm-6am)

Job Type: Full-time

Education/Experience

• Experience as a forklift operator

Description

Moving various sized units and or products from various sources to the next staging area. Responsible for maintaining accurate records as to the location of the each unit moved. Responsible for performing basic equipment maintenance and general housekeeping duties. Assist general operations when needed.

Requirements

Must be capable of getting forklift certified and very safety conscious.

Two years forklift operation preferred.

Experience with “scanner” or “barcode” warehouse management inventory systems preferred. Must have the ability to maintain and or identify equipment maintenance needs.

Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, tape measure, and time management skills are needed.

Must be able to function in extreme temperatures and must be available for weekend work schedules.

Language Skills

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

Mathematical Skills

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.

Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

Will be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
