Job summary

Shaw Industries in Ringgold, GA is seeking a Lift Truck Operator for the 1st shift (8:00 AM–4:00 PM). You will move materials, log IPT locations, perform daily lift truck checks, and assist with packaging, recycling, and housekeeping to keep the facility safe and efficient.

Applicants should be able to operate a lift truck after training, pass color vision and vision tests, work a 12‑hour-ready schedule day after day, and comply with OSHA and plant safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
• Must pass color blindness and vision tests.
• Must be familiar with current computer systems and software.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck after training.
• Must mount/dismount lift truck up to 100 times per day.
• Must have adequate depth perception.
• Must withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
• Must lift up to 50 lb.
• Must sit for 12 hours a day.
• Must complete yearly LTO recertification.
• Must comply with OSHA, SAFE and plant safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Move materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas or other assigned areas.
• Record storage locations for IPT next to product numbers.
• Complete lift truck check sheets daily.
• Dispose of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.
• Strap and package finished goods and WIP as needed.
• Operate floor sweeper when needed.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Change lift truck batteries as needed.
• Assist in keeping the facility clean.
• Perform duties of other LTOs when necessary.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace.
• Operate baler in recycling of raw materials.
• Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.
• Maintain all recycling containers and dumpsters.
• Maintain all trash dumpsters and cans.
