Job summary

Koppers Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to handle treated cross ties, switch ties, and bridge timbers. You will fuel, care for, and maintain equipment while adhering to all safety laws and company policies. The role requires teamwork with laborers to management and carries no supervisory duties.

The ideal candidate will operate equipment safely, perform daily maintenance and safety checks, and participate in other construction-related tasks as needed. Weekend work is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate heavy equipment safely.
• 1 year of equipment operation experience preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime.
• Able to work well in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate all heavy equipment in a safe, proper manner.
• Fuel, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct daily checks and report issues promptly.
• Notify supervisor of mechanical problems needing attention.
• Perform other construction-related duties as required.

Responsible for all fueling, care, and maintenance of their equipment, as well as compliance with all company, local, and Federal safety laws.
