Job summary

WestRock in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Warehouse Associate to move units to the warehouse, load onto machines or trucks, and ensure proper banding and load tags. This role requires reading and writing English, basic math, and the ability to complete Lift Truck Training.

You will verify unit and truck counts, perform a visual quality check, maintain accurate paperwork, and participate in a range of duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must read, write and speak English. Math skills will be assessed.
• Lift Truck training and certification to operate equipment.
• Ability to work 1st/2nd/3rd shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Move units to warehouse and/or load units into machines or onto trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure all units are banded properly and have a clear load tag; verify straps are intact.
• Ensure unit and truck counts are correct and paperwork is accurate.
• Unload incoming material and perform visual quality inspections to verify counts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Move units to warehouse and/or load units into machines or onto trucks in a safe and efficient manner
• Responsible for ensuring that all units are banded properly; have a clearly visible load tag on them when being loaded; and that there are no broken or missing straps on the units
• Responsible for ensuring that unit and truck counts are correct and all paperwork is accurate
• Unload incoming material as needed and will be responsible for performing a visual quality inspection on items to verify that unit and truck counts are accurate
• Other duties as assigned

What You Need to Succeed:

1. High School diploma or GED required.
2. Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift; available to work overtime.
3. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Math skills will be assessed.
4. Understand unitizing and palletizing information.
5. Able to successfully complete Lift Truck Training and pass the written and driving skills test to be certified Lift Truck Operator.

The starting rate is $25.95 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location.
