Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking an experienced Lift Station Supervisor to lead a team in maintaining and repairing lift stations, STEP and low-pressure sewer systems, and related infrastructure. You will coordinate field activities, ensure safety, and drive reliability for critical wastewater facilities.

The role requires supervisory experience, a Florida driver’s license, and preferred credentials such as a Class A CDL and water/sewer certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related maintenance/ops experience or
• an Associate's degree with 2 years of related experience or
• a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of related experience plus 1 year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule and supervise maintenance and repair of lift stations and sewer systems.
• Coordinate daily/weekly field activities for safe, efficient completion.
• Inspect work to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Train and mentor staff on operations, safety and processes.
• Manage scheduling, resources, and work assignments for efficiency.
• Procure parts, materials, and equipment; review orders and invoices.
• Monitor maintenance programs and ensure service levels.
