Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking an Industrial Electrician (SCADA/PLC) for the Venice Gardens Water Reclamation Facility. You will maintain, repair, monitor, and calibrate electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems, and support SCADA, Maximo, and remote telemetry. The role requires reading schematics, handling varied voltages, and prioritizing safety.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years related experience OR
• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years experience in electronics equipment and IT technologies
• Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, monitor, and calibrate electrical/electronic systems and test equipment
• Provide support for SCADA, Maximo, and remote telemetry hardware/software
• Inspect and diagnose control circuitry and instrumentation, PLC, and VFD issues
• Install/adjust/maintain SCADA components and instrumentation per diagrams
• Perform rehab and replacements to conform with standards
